We Are Family

                               1.  What animals are native to your area?

                               2.  Observe their habits or read about them.

                               3.  Record what you have learned.

                                                                             The Javelina, Tucson, Arizona

"The javelina has a musk scent gland that is located on the upper back which

helps the herd recognize each other.  The family stays together and travels

out for nightly ventures which include munching on prickly pear cactus and

other flowers.  The javelina has a pink nose and a white collar on its neck."
