To Parents and TeachersIn the Desert Children's Project welcomes you to this site. Parents and teachers have been using the material presented for use at home and in the classroom. Ideas for projects are completely listed on the web site or are available in The Children are Happy series. Order Form This web site is unique in its approach in that we as staff are using techniques to prepare ourselves to do this work so that we are coming from LOVE and Peace providing activities and projects that are purposeful. Caring and nurturing the child is of utmost importance. The allowing the child to express and be. This nurturing brings forth the child and allows him to develop from within…without the teacher or parent telling him what to do. This is not always easy to do as the mind has ideas about what it thinks should be done or may react to different situations. Each of the staff and Board of Directors have found that an ancient Hawaiian process of problem solving has assisted us. We are not teaching this process, but living it. We include this in this section so that you may choose if this is something you wish to apply to your life. The children can be screaming and noisy and driving us nuts or they can be quiet and working with enthusiasm. They are reflecting us and our "stuff". We find it helpful to apply a process called Self Identity through Ho’oponopono so we can come to the project in peace. See What is Ho’oponopono. If you find that this approach is something you would like to share with
your child, we have a section called Tools for Life that
your child can easily apply to help him solve a problem.
This section is to assist you in finding another approach to teaching and training your children. It is always your choice to decide what is best for you. The articles suggested might give you another insight into how you might look at yourself and see that by working on yourself the child reflects the results. Also available are classes and other learning material we'll be providing throughout the year. "The purpose of life does not change with the coming of a new millennium! States Ihaleakala Hew Len, Ph.D. It will always remain the same to be restored back to Love moment to moment." (article – A House Divided) When we are restored back to LOVE we have access to our Mind where all answers and solutions to problems exist. We have thoughts that play in our minds. The ability to let them go requires discipline and action. I received a note from a friend saying she could use a CD Changer to replace the thoughts going on in her mind. (article - Need a CD Changer) Our problems show up in our children and manifest as trouble at school, with drugs, relationships, anger and any other situation that is not LOVE. (article - Look in the Mirror) We have the opportunity to start anew each and every time. (article - New Beginnings) It seems such a simple solution to solve the problem by working on ourselves. This way there is a way out; we can take responsibility for what is going on around and not be victims or feel hopeless or get burned out. (article – a New Beginning) "There is a way, though, out of problems and disease for any individual willing to be 100% responsible for creating his life the way it is moment to moment. In the ancient Hawaiian healing process of Ho’oponopono, the individual petitions Love to rectify errors within him." States Ihaleakala Hew Len, Ph.D. (article - The ancient Hawaiian Teaching of Ho’oponopono The Marriage) We have the opportunity with each situation to take responsibility for the problem and get out of the way. Imagine going through the day with a readiness to see each problem as an opportunity, to let go, to allow the change to happen and to see where inspiration leads us. http://hooponopono.org/Articles/sith_by_mary_koehler.html "...with each problem we have the chance to take responsibility, let go of the thinking and begin the "cleaning'. We can ask the question, "What is going on in me that this has shown up right now?" http://hooponopono.org/Articles/self_i-dentity.html The way a child could learn is to have the teacher love herself.
