COMPANIONS ON THE ROAD

Reflections from the Road

“Keep yourself happy”….wonderful words from the Nov/Dec issue activity of Companions on the Road.

I enjoyed the singing, games, walks and visits that came with the holidays. It was lovely to rest and relax.

It is so easy to wait for someone else or something outside of ourselves to make us happy.

Caring for ourselves is so important….whether a walk, a nap, a bit of painting, or enjoying the task at hand.

The day is up to us…..sadness or gratitude, hatred or love, irritation or gentle care…..sometimes it just takes a fun activity to change the day.

 Something To Do

 Face Fun

 Using your face muscles, move.

Begin to move and see what comes to do.  You could:

    Blow Kisses

Say the vowels and add exaggerated sound.

Make horse sounds with your lips.

Add your fingertips and hands to make more faces.

See what happens when you do these things.

    Laugh

    Smile

    Whistle

    Sing, "Come on Get Happy"

Say.  I love you.  I'm cool.  Wonderful.
