NS:  I’ve always been fascinated by others.  Enjoying reading how they live their lives, their thinking, the food they eat.  This column will be an interesting way to pursue that.

MK:  I find that winter is A TIME for slowing down – for reflection.  A chance to focus on myself to see changes I CAN make in myself – ways I do things or even look at things.

The January Events activity of Snowflakes, supports this.

RESPONSES FROM READERS ON THE ROAD

Irish Soda Bread

“Thank you very much for making these workshops available. The peacefulness that came through from just signing up to bake a loaf of bread was a powerful reminder that cleansing manifests in many unexpected ways.”  RJ

“I ended up giving a loaf to each family member as they came around during the holidays.  It is so good toasted with strawberry jam.”  N

“I found tea towels with the Oregon Seal to wrap each loaf – topped it off with an ornament.  My son showed me how to wrap it up.”  M

Make a Play Date with a Friend.

Thank you for sending the information. I like the "Meet your Unihipili" very much and it works wonderful.”  G

“While I was in Ireland with a friend I observed her taking 20 minutes rest after eating.  I tried it and find it something I want to try to incorporate when possible to take care of myself.”  MK

A LITTLE BIT OF INTROSPECTION

What was your favorite part of 2006?

NS:  A friend asked me that question and I was surprised at the answer.  It was my move to San Diego, California.  She said her favorite thing was the teaching during the summer program in Tucson as part of In the Desert Children’s Project.  She said she loved the creative process.
