Chocolate Filled Valentines

Supplies:    Mini candy canes

                 Lollipop sticks (optional)

                 ½ chocolate chips

                 1 ½ teaspoons vegetable oil

                 Parchment paper

  1. Heat oven to 235 degrees. On parchment – lined baking sheet, arrange the candy canes as heart and bake them for 5 – 10 minutes.  You may add lollipop sticks in this step.
  2. Slide the hearts still on parchment paper quickly to a work surface.  Pinch each heart to make shape.
  3. Melt chips and oil in double boiler or microwave.
  4. Spoon the chocolate mixture into the center of each heart.
  5. Sprinkles or nonpareils can be used on chocolate if desired.
  6. Package hearts in bags and add heart stickers.
  7. Deliver to your valentine friends.
  8. Don’t forget to make one for yourself.
